I had to buy a replacement carafe for this coffeemaker and the previous one I bought was very, very thin and broke very quickly. So I purchased this one and am very happy with it. It is made of thicker glass and is sturdy. I recommend it. Love the coffeemaker too!
I just really keep a spare carafe on hand for when I drop the one I'm using. But I've been using the Braun coffee maker for many years because it always brews a good cup of coffee, and I'm no cook, so I need all the help I can get.
